Bright Cook & Co is a privately owned company with its main subsidiary being active in Ship Sale and Purchase (S&P). Founded in April 1987 by two partners, Richard Bright and Charles Cook, the Company has grown steadily but solidly over the years having experienced the rise and fall of the Shipping Market more than once!
The Company enjoys an enviable reputation as one of London's leading Shipbroking houses especially in the Container and Gas ship markets in addition to the traditional Bulk Carrier and Tanker sectors where the Company also has a strong track record. The Company has also been involved in a substantial number of landmark Cruise ship transactions.
The core focus of our attention today remains simply the provision of top quality service given on an individual and personal level to our valued clients around the world for the New Building, Chartering and Sale and Purchase of all types of Vessels, including substantial sales for the inevitable recycling with companies recognised for their green credentials.
The majority of our business is handled 'off market' and in a very confidential manner including complex transactions involving long term Employment, Finance and leasing with some of our projects attracting particular attention from investors worldwide.
The Company firmly believes in maintaining a discreet and low profile, reflecting also the calibre of its loyal Customer base without whom our success would not have been possible.

SERVICES
Sale & Purchase
Since 1987 Bright Cook & Co has brokered over 1000 Sale & Purchase deals. We are market leaders in the containership sector but have acted for our clients in almost every type of vessel. In recent years, we have been particularly active in the gas and product tanker markets.
Vessel Finance
We have a diverse network of finance institutions with whom we have helped our clients structure vessel finance. This has including refinancing, newbuilding finance, pre-delivery finance and large scale sale and leaseback transactions.
Newbuildings
We have assisted numerous clients to contract newbuilding contracts with first class ship yards. This has included single vessels to multi vessel orders. We can also assist with arranging back to back finance and long terms charters with our range of clients.
Demolition
We have helped large numbers of clients to effectively dispose of tonnage at the end of its working life. We have an extensive network of demolition cash Buyers and end users with whom we can ensure Owners have a straightforward transaction.
Period Chartering
We have helped clients to secure long term employment for their vessels of up to 15 years. We have first class counter parties with whom we can look structure Time charter or Bareboat employment in various sectors including dry bulk, containers & tankers
Projects
We specialise in originating innovative off market deals and look to structure end to end solutions for our clients. This can include sourcing tonnage and arranging both finance and employment. We have also helped introduce our clients to suitable parties for M&A.
